Sighting!

A pair sighted in Fawfieldhead, along with a solitary Lapwing. They were in fine voice too. The weather was a bit murky, spitting with rain and quite windy, but there has been a rise in temperature the last few days. Must have the camera and/or video recorder at the ready from now on …..

It would appear that there has been at least one curlew in the Upper Dove valley since mid-late February. The have also now been heard, but not seen, in the Shawfield area, above the Upper Manifold.

Neighbours report hearing the curlews over Oakenclough way. No sightings yet, but they are definitely back for 2010.
