Mike has contacted us from Packmoor, just north of Stoke-on-Trent:
I heard a curlew in this area one day last week. Today I heard the very distinctive crescendo of notes. He must have flown right
over the house but I could not get outside quick enough. There are groundwater drainage lagoons nearby….
Today also had us distributing more of the “A walk in Curlew Country” leaflet, via the national park ranger service. It appears to be one of the most popular walks in the vicinity.
I am now turning my attention to getting some video footage of the birds hereabouts – proving easier said than done so far but I am persevering….
